2012 Cost of living adjustment for Retirees

The COLA adjustment for Retirees effective July 1, 2012 is 3%. Adjustments will be reflected in the July 31st retirement check. Any retired State employee or teacher who has been on retiree payroll for at least 12 full months on July 1st is eligible to receive an adjustment in his or her retirement allowance based on an increase in the Consumer Price Index for the preceding calendar year. Legislature Sends Budget to Governor

Monday night both the House and Senate reached an agreement on the budget and sent it on to Governor Haslam for his signature. The budget passed by the legislature includes a 2.5% raise for state employees that, barring veto by the Governor, will be distributed as a true across-the-board raise for ALL employees as negotiated by TSEA during the TEAM Act discussions.
